Bautista Vermal Azcona is Vice President of Mining at Litica, the Pluspetrol group's Lithium mining operator, with exploration and production projects in Salta and Jujuy, Argentina, since September 2021. He previously served as Strategy & Portfolio and Business Development Manager at Pluspetrol, and Sinopec Argentina. He previously worked for Occidental Petroleum Corporation (OXY), Tecnonexo / Aldea X, a new private technology company and in P&G in mass consumption. With more than 20 years of experience in business development in the mining and energy sector and having carried out transactions for more than 5 billion dollars, Mr. Vermal has participated in key projects in Latin America, including asset transactions and companies. Mr. Vermal graduated Summa Cum Laude EMBA from IAE Business School, Industrial Engineer from ITBA and Graduate in Sociology from the University of Buenos Aires. He has received a distinction from the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange as a "Notable Young Man" early in his career. Mr. Vermal is married and has three daughters.
Litica Resources, a private lithium mining company which, owns extensive mining rights of 300,000 hectares of salt flats in the renowned "Lithium Triangle" in Northern Argentina. The company demonstrated robust operational capabilities and a commendable track record, having explored, developed, and established a large-scale Pilot Plant with a capacity of 200TPA in the Pozuelos Pastos Grandes salar. This facility achieved a significant milestone by producing battery-grade lithium carbonate. Currently, Litica Resources is actively engaged in the development of a 40,000TPA project and the finalization of construction on an R&D center in Salta, Argentina.
