Mine closure represents a fundamental stage in the life cycle of a mining project and its proper management can have a positive impact on the place where it was developed. In Santa Cruz, the Mine Closure Law represents a unique opportunity to promote sustainable activity that takes into account environmental, social and economic aspects. The objective of the presentation is to provide an analysis of the different aspects of the Mine Closure Law of the Province of Santa Cruz, emphasizing early and participatory mine closure planning, ensured through responsible environmental and financial management, which seeks regional economic diversification and the balance of environmental components in the post-closure.
