Resumen

The Hierro Indio Mine is one of the most important high-grade iron mines in Argentina, both for the quality and purity of its ore, as well as for the potential quantity of its reserves. The mine is 100% owned by HIERRO INDIO S.A., an Argentine company committed to the exploration and development of iron ore mining projects in the country. The mine is located in the Department of Malargüe, Province of Mendoza, Argentina, approximately 70 km north of the capital city of the Department. The Project is located between 2,200 and 2,500 meters above sea level, which means that exploration and exploitation activities can be carried out practically throughout the year. The recent exploration activities in the Project area were carried out after the end of the 2021 winter season, considering a prospective area of about 1,000 hectares. These included geological mapping, geochemical sampling, hyperspectral and geophysical data surveys and interpretation, as well as the design of an upcoming drilling program. A priori it is inferred that the total amount of reserves of the Project could exceed 15 M tons of iron ore. The characteristics of this deposit allow the extraction and concentration of iron ore by conventional mechanical means. It is considered to use dry and wet magnetic separators during the concentration process. The realization of the Project can bring important regional benefits that can contribute to the incorporation of small-scale or informal mining in the production process proposed by Hierro Indio S.A., forming a Mining Pole in the Department of Malargüe.
