Mr. Raúl Chocobar worked as a senior mining exploration geologist in the geological departments of Puna and Cordillera Oriental in Argentina for Glencore – Minera Aguilar and Salta Exploraciones – Cascadero Copper Corp. He also worked as an independent mining consultant for local companies in Argentina like AGV Servicios Mineros SRL; foreign companies like Mineração Santa Elina Indústria e Comércio and Argentine government agencies such as REMSA S.A. (Recursos Energéticos y Mineros de Salta). He currently collaborates in the Mining Chambers of the Provinces of Salta and Jujuy; he is also a member of the Association of Economic Geologists and Founding Partner of AMINCO S.R.L, a mining consulting company that works actively in the local environment. Mr. Chocobar is a geologist with a degree from the National University of Salta. He was a scholar of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET), he participated actively in postgraduate courses, publications in journals and conferences. He was part of research projects too. Since 2018, he works as Geology and Exploration Manager for HANAQ Group, leading a group of geologists, civil and mining engineers and prospectors, whose main objective is to generate new business for the company.
On this presentation Hanaq Group mining projects in Jujuy are listed and classified within the company strategy for their development. The province of Jujuy has been chosen not only for the geological potential but also for its geopolitical, social, legislation and environmental conditions which generate an optimal situation for mining investment. Providencia Mine is taken as an example of a Brownfield project which has been object of investment and finally has reached the construction and metallurgical production test. Multiple challenges and its solutions during the development program of this project are listed in order to achieve the company goals.
