Guillermo is a visionary entrepreneur Geologist with a Master's degree from Cornell University (USA) with more than 35 years of international experience in the mining and Oil & gas industries, as well as in onshore and offshore exploration for both the public and private sectors. He is the owner and developer of gold, iron and uranium mining projects in Argentina
The Uranio y Vanadio Laguna Sirven Project corresponds to a extensive and voluminous deposit of uranium and superficial vanadium located in the north of the Province of Santa Cruz. The form of occurrence of the Project's uranium minerals allows considering that their extraction and production could be carried out through clean conventional mechanisms and processes, with relatively low costs. The deposit is of the “calcrete” type, that is to say that the mineral occurs within a sandy material and little consolidated gravel. Uranium and vanadium ores are very close to the surface, less than one meter deep. The main anomalies detected are between 500 and 700 ppm of U3O8 and 400 to 600 ppm of V2O5. SOPHIA ENERGY S.A. has mining rights in some 100,000 hectares, which cover approximately 85% of the most prospective sectors of the uraniferous basin in the surroundings of La Laguna Sirven. Preliminary regional estimates indicate that the project could have reserves between 8 and 10 Mlb @ 60-80 ppm of U3O8 and more than 50 Mlb @ 500 ppm of V2O5. The company has an intense exploration program planned, applying state-of-the-art technology, which will allow verify Project reserves in a relatively short environmental time and with a minimum.
