The importance and benefits of adhering to international standards when designing mine closure, integrating it into the mine's life planning, from establishing the vision and objectives of the closure to designing engagement programs, risk assessment, selecting closure activities, and defining success criteria. Within the framework of these actions, the guidelines to follow for general closure and post-closure activities are analyzed, highlighting the physical and geochemical stability of components, demolition and rehabilitation tasks, characterization and coverage methods of deposits, and environmental monitoring. The goal is to comply with international standards' recommendations and achieve optimization in the closure budget estimation and financial assurance.

The importance and benefits of adhering to international standards when designing mine closure, integrating it into life-of-mine planning, from establishing the vision and closure objectives, to the design of commitment programs, the risk assessment, selection of closure activities and definition of success criteria. Within the framework of the aforementioned actions, the guidelines to be followed in the general closure and post-closure activities are analyzed, among which the physical and geochemical stability of components, the tasks of demolition and rehabilitation of components, the characterization and deposit coverage methods, environmental monitoring, with the objective of complying with the recommendations of international standards and in the same line, achieving optimization in the estimation of the closure budget and financial guarantee.
